12-28-2008 visit was great!by Yahoo | 2008-12-30 04:25:32 |

We went to the dolphin park on our recent visit to Cancun. I will tell you up front, there are separate charges for park entry and the dolphin swims. You can just go to the park and have a nice time, but that isn´t where the real excitement is. The park is in geat condition, including the botanical gardens. After signing up for the dolphin swim we spent some time snorkelling. Granted, there were not a lot of fish, but it is a safe location for beginner snorkellers. The beaches are very nice, with plenty of palapa-covered wooden chairs. Now, on to the dolphin swim...it was absolutely GREAT!!! My wife and I had about half an hour with one trainer and two dolphins (delphines , in Spanish). The animals are quite friendly and trusting, and the trainer keeps the fish flowing to keep the dolphins´ interest. There was a dedicated photographer, as well as a dedicated videographer, for our adventure. At the end we were offered, with a very soft-sell approach, to buy still photos, the video, or a package. We chose to purchase just the video, but could have refused the entire lot without pressure. We strongly recommend signing up for this adventure if you have the opportunity.

Big let downby Yahoo | 2008-07-04 07:21:29 |

I was really looking forward to visiting this park. For sixteen dollars a person, you can get the same thing for free at any of the beachs up and down the road. Don't waste your money unless you go just to pet a dolphin.

Dolphin Park!by Yahoo | 2008-05-24 15:32:21 |

Great packages to swim with the dolphins and take part with a dolphin one on one. Very capable staff and I enjoyed the entire experience. Do it, you will not regret it! Also great area for snorkeling, with comfy chairs and tapas to keep you covered. Very clean and not crowded. Also at the entrance you can take a picture ($5.00 USD) with Rambo a really huge Iguana. So cool!

Awesome experience!by Yahoo | 2008-01-30 21:56:31 |

Very inexpensive and wonderful for the whole family. A short cab ride from the cruise terminals and an inexpensive admittance fee will get you in the doors of a beautiful paradise. Don't book through the cruise excursion desk for snorkling, dolphin encounters or beach lounging. Just do it on your own. It's a local beach, hardley crowded and amazingly beautiful. Theres a small lagoon for little kids and tropical fish swim up to you. We bring cherios in zip lock bags and release a few in the water. Fish love them! Snorkel eqipment, although old, is dirt cheep and good for the whole day. Theres a great restaurant on site that serves the best pina coladas. Theres free lounge chairs under palm trees and the wait staff are not pushy. Iguanas are everywhere and thats a real treat for the kids. I go twice a year and since Wilma, it is pretty much up and running again. GREAT BUY!!!!! The family will love it!

My hubby and I were on a cruise for our honeymoon (2004) and we swan with the dolphins here. They are SO cool. It was a once in a life time experiance. I would recommend it to everyone to do at least once in your life.

Chankanaab Parkby Yahoo | 2007-11-25 17:36:17 |

My kids and I were in Cozumel on a cruise Nov 2007. I booked the royal dolphin swim directly through the park. Even with the cost of the cab and renting snorkeling equipment the cost was still substanially lower than I would have paid through the cruise line with more interaction with the dolphins. My kids and I had the time of our lives with the dolphins. It was a wonderful experience that we will never forget. The park was well maintained and the water was absolutely beautiful. Unfortunately it rained the whole time we were there so we did not get to do as much as we would have liked but that is not the parks fault. If I return to Cozumel I WILL return to Chakanaab.

Great Place to get away from it all!!by Yahoo | 2007-10-30 18:34:42 |

We went the day after Labor Day and were about the only ones there!! Much less crowded than the commercial beaches (Maybe 20 people there). There is no real beach, but great thatch covered cabanas situated in the midst of alot of beautiful white sand for relaxing, and a good restaurant where we were served right on the water. We had all day for 2 people for $50 USD and got snorkel gear as part of the deal. Lunch for 2 (Split an entree and appetizer) was $20. Saw many types of fish and coral without having to pay to take a boat out to a reef. Taxi was $10 each way so a caribbean beach getaway for the day ran us under $100. I have been recommending it to others. A friend is going soon and is getting a diving session + snorkeling for himself and snorkeling only for his wife. Total for their entrance is only $97.

Dolphins are cool!!!by Yahoo | 2007-10-02 19:30:27 |

Loved swimming with the dolphins. The trainers were very knowledgable. The time in the tank with the dolphins was substanial. Would do it again. It was the hightlight of my vacation.

I can't wait to go back this December!by Yahoo | 2007-09-25 17:30:03 |

The last time I was in Cozumel I came to Chankanaab and swam with the dolphins and I had the time of my life. I have not stopped talking about it since and that was 4 years ago. I am going on a cruise this December, and it doesn't offer the option of going to Chankanaab, so I will be taking a cab and going on my own, just because if I'm in Cozumel I know I have to do it again! Every one kept telling me when I got back oh, that sounds fabulous, what a once in a life time adventure, well guess what, it is not going to be a once in a life time, I'm doing it again!!!

Amazing timeby Yahoo | 2007-04-18 12:54:41 |

The scuba diving is renowned and if you can get access to one of the many underwater caves, then you're in for a real treat. The snorkeling is just as good and for those that want to try a combination of both, there's SNUBA - just like snorkeling but you're air is fed from the surface down through a long air hose...very fun!! Don't forget to check the Myan artifacts at the park - some people don't even realize that it's really one of the main attractions.
