Overview

The western beaches of Cozumel offer much safer swimming and Playa Mia is one of the best beaches around. Unfortunately, this makes it the most popular beach on the island. The Playa Mia Grand Beach Park now charges USD 5 to join the party. An additional fee of USD 39 gets you access to all the water sports facilities, an open bar and buffet, pool, hammocks, kid's club, zoo and all the games.

Open Hours

Mo to Su from 08:00 AM to 06:00 PM

Disappointingby Yahoo | 2008-05-12 03:29:01 |

After being told this was a hotspot on the island, I experienced it with a rude taste in my mouth and left highly disappointed. The shoreline contained jagged rocks which made it hard to navigate. The overall beach area was rather small and average. The biggest outrage was the rude staff, in particular the ones holding an iguana for a photo opportunity. But you can't just come up and snap a shot. You have to pay them $5 for a pic with the animal. Try to sneak a shot and the staff will put his hand in front of your lens or stand in your line of sight. Absolutely ridiculous. I vowed not to purchase anything for the rest of my time there. I'm surprised they didn't charge me to breathe the air in the complex. I am sure there has to be better places for tourists to visit and spend their money. No to Playa Mia!

AMAZING TIME!!!!by Yahoo | 2006-05-31 14:49:26 |

Everytime I take a cruise, I make sure this is where I go for the day! One stop for shopping, swimming (pools and beach), all water sports, other non water activities and plenty of drinking--go for the Fiesta or all inclusive at the entrance. Food and drinks are very good!

What else could you wantby Yahoo | 2006-05-04 01:03:57 |

Also known as Playa Mia. This place has alot of everything. This resort offers several packages to choose from on entry. Of coarse we choose the full package that included free drinks, all you can eat buffet, free use of water toys, and beach chair. Even with all this it was still unbelievably cheap. As you walk in you pass several vender shops where you can buy everything you would find downtown. Always haggle! The relaxing atmosphere is great for just soaking up the sun. This is one of the few beaches on this side of the island with a sandy beach most have coral rock face to climb over with just a small sandy area for the sunbathers. If you are more adventurous the reef is right off shore to explore. There is a local vendor that rents snorkel gear and will even offer boat rides out to the large reef with a guide. I highly recommend this. There is another vendor that rents Waverunners! They have several mayan ruins planted in the water for the young ones to explore by snorkel. If water sports are not your thing you can relax in a hammok under a palm tree or relax by the bar in a fresh water pool. All in all I feel this is one of the best beach resorts on the island.

Excellent Vacation Must!by Yahoo | 2005-02-26 21:38:25 |

This place was really an excellent experience for me and my boyfriend. We went there about two years ago and will be returning in May of this year. At first we were hesitant because of the cost to get in, I think between 15-20 USD, can't quite remember. But it was well worth it. There was everything possible for you to try out. They had jet skis, parasailing, hairbraiding, awesome water trampolines, kayaks and much more. It was a little crowded but we had no trouble finding a spot. They also have a great little restaurant that has GREAT nachos!! Water was a little pricey . Definitely an experience worth the cost, we got a whole day of fun for just around 50 USD for the both of us!

you really can do so many things at playa sol! this beach has a beautiful view, fun little shops, good food and open bars, dancing, music, and lots of wet entertainment. you can kayak, climb the "iceberg" or hop on a trampoline in the ocean, play volleyball or simply relax in the sun amongst all the happy vacationers. there is even a little monkey park you can walk through! i visited playa sol on my last trip to cozumel and i plan on going again this april. its just a quick taxi-ride from ship ports and its a well-priced way to spend a day in the sun!
