Overview
This 314-acre expanse of garden, greenery, fountains, ponds and fine sculpture, located just east of downtown, is home to the Denver Zoo and the Denver Museum of Nature and Science. Built in the early 1900s as part of the popular City Beautiful movement, the park served Denverites as a civic refuge and swimming retreat. The lake beach no longer exists, but the historic boathouse, seen on many area postcards, remains. Three playgrounds, picnic tables, tennis courts and a public golf course are all available.Open Hours
Mo to Su from 05:00 AM to 11:00 PMMusic in the Park
While visiting friends in Denver during the Summer months, one of the things we look forward to is Jazz in the Park. City Park is an ideal setting for this. Our entire family, including my husband, daughter, son, granddaughter, brothers, sisters, all love the experience. I love that City Park is an older park with mature trees and is located right in the middle of the city! It's great!
