Overview

A relic of Denver's City Beautiful period, this 155-acre (63-hectare) park is home to two formal gardens, one of which is a replica of George Washington's garden at Mount Vernon. The park is always full of walkers, joggers and bicyclists taking advantage of the trails and roads that encompass and dissect the entire grounds. Fishing on the park's two lakes is popular and there are also greens for lawn bowling, tennis and basketball courts, playgrounds, plenty of space for volleyball games and a recreation center with an indoor pool.

Yuppies and Prentensionby Yahoo | 2007-08-25 01:12:46 |

Wash Park was great in the early 80's before the Yuppies found it. Now it is mutual fund manager and girl friend of the week territory. Overpriced and undersized. If you love snobiness this could be for you Paris Hilton, if you are looking for Colorado, go somewhere else.

Great for kids!by Yahoo | 2006-04-08 15:46:09 |

One of the best jungle gyms that I've seen in Denver. Tunnels all over the place. Good duck pond too. Conveniently located in central Denver, and has good parking. A diverse array of people go there.

I have been staying here at my brother

Overall decent zooby Yahoo | 2005-09-29 22:09:43 |

I've been to many zoos and, although sometimes depressing, the Denver zoo is halfway decent. The monkey exhibit was fun, but at the time several animals were not viewable because of the weather. I'd recommend for the family outing that zoos are always good for.

Wash Park has it all!by Yahoo | 2005-09-10 03:24:17 |

Washington Park has it all! Beautiful gardens, wide green expanses, lakes and the best of Denver's outdoors. Pick up your running shoes or hop on you bike and head to the park. Keep an eye out for the gardens on the northwestern side of the park, they're some of the most beautiful in Denver.

Oasis of Denverby Yahoo | 2005-07-04 17:38:39 |

Washington Park is one of the few great parts about the otherwise uptight, conservative city of Denver. People come to this green park to run and play tennis, and there are dogs everywhere. If you come to Denver and the unfriendly people and relentlessly ambitious lifetyle are stressing you out, take an afternoon and relax here. You'll be glad you did!

Visit Wash Park any month of the year...by Yahoo | 2005-01-26 12:49:32 |

I used to live in Wash Park and miss it everyday. People and dogs are out all day long, all 12 months of the year. (Even in the Wintertime, as it is usually always sunny.) The park is great for walking, running, biking, rollerblading, picnicing, playing basketball and more. Yoga classes are even held there. In the warm weather people organize BBQ's and get-togethers. Because of its size, the park never feels crowded. The neigborhood that surrounds it is very safe and clean, with lots to do.

This place Rocks!!by Yahoo | 2004-09-22 21:14:12 |

Wash Park is probably the most beautiful place to run to get into shape or train for a marathon. It is quiet, clean, the people are nice, and I feel very safe there. The flowers and beautiful and so are the lakes and rivers in and around the park. Just being there makes you want to get into shape.

the place to be seen at your worstby Yahoo | 2004-08-31 01:56:28 |

The people who go here are into activity, it's all about getting into shape even if you are just walking your dog. A great place to see the young lively people who live in the area, and where appearances are less important than a good attitude.
