An Oasis in the Desert

Hajar Mountains
Dubai,
Dubai, United Arab Emirates

Overview

Nestled in the varied crags of the Hajar Mountains, the Hatta Rock Pools unfold its rocky corridors with bursting waterfalls and turquoise pools. Venture through the narrow passageways to find spring-fed pools that are yet to be discovered. Only half an hour from the ancient village of Hatta, this oasis is a hidden gem.

Hatta pools trashed !by Yahoo | 2008-10-07 09:12:25 |

Such a shame this beautiful place has been ruined by dusgusting people who have left dirty nappies, rubbish, food, plactic and bottles everywhere it is so disgusting you just cannot go there anymore, Indian workers go there on a Friday for a day trio out and hang around in the under pants swimming in the pools, the mess was unbeleiveable, such a shame ! why cant people take their rubbish home with them !!

After a short visit we realised that 3 local men in a light coloured Altima had broken into the car and stolen cash

Just fascinatingby Yahoo | 2007-12-02 21:14:13 |

It was an exhilirating experience from the trip till we went to the actual location. The road there was like a roller coaster ride with it's narrow and bumpy path. And the hills were of different shade of color but right next to each other. The rock formations at the hatta pools was amazing and the water was a nice green color. The only down side was the heat and wasps following us around, but if a person is a nature freak they wouldnt have a problem with that! Overall it was a great experience and it was worth the time, energy and money. I absolutely recommend it!

I love escaping from Dubai and going to Hattan and the Hajjar Mountains. Its such a relief to see nature again after living in the city. It can be a little bit scary for the inexperienced driver and you do need to take plenty of water with you. The pools are a godsend after the drive just to cool down. Yes some really disgusting people or ignorant people decide they will bring home their rubbish, and thats a shame. Some bins in the area would be and idea and some signs to guide you to the pools. MY FAMILY LOVE THE MOUNTAINS, THE LOCALS AND THE PEACE.

Perfect Way To Spend The Weekend !!by Yahoo | 2006-12-08 09:57:08 |

Its An Amazing To Between The Hajjar Mountains, Make Sure You Have An Suv, Its Kinda Diffcult To Move Around The Wadi's, Once You Reach There, You'll Find It Was Worth The Drive. Tip: - Make Sure You Carry Enough Food & Water Supplies, No Grocery Or Supermarket For Atleast 15 - 20 Kms.

Day drive or Camp out ...by Yahoo | 2005-12-02 18:03:44 |

It's definitely a good break from Dubai..just remember the road to the Pools are not clearly marked. Immediately after the mosque after the hatta Police Station, the road is forked..take the left..drive a few metres and then take the first right..he you need to drive about 5/10 minutes you will find a sign board welcoming you to picnic and campsite area Great place to camp but you need to go offroad and good palce for a rocky picnic.. Pools are good but there is a lot of garbage left by picnicers..so take care and on your way back grab a quad ride on the dunes..

Beautiful surroundings but....by Yahoo | 2005-11-07 09:52:16 |

.....many local people come here for a picnic and they don't clean up!!! It is very dirty and full of trach all around the pools!!!!

Peaceful Experienceby Yahoo | 2005-07-08 14:29:30 |

It's a nice escape from the hustle and bustle of Dubai and Abu Dhabi. It's important to go out and enjoy these pools soon after the rain, as the water becomes stagnant and potentially unsafe to swim in.
