Overview

One of Durban's best known pubs, it has a wonderful location, at the edge of the harbor's mouth, so you can watch the vast boats coming and going through the entrance to the port; the busiest in Africa. At night this is a surreal experience of great moving hulks with tiny lights gliding into the harbor. The tavern has a big, enclosed deck along the sea edge with bar tables. The bar is well appointed and the staff attentive and friendly. Inside there is a large restaurant which serves all day, and there is live music most nights. Thirsty's Dockside Tavern is open daily 8 am onwards.
