Overview

The South beach of the Golden Mile runs down to the Point from the junction of West street and Marine Parade. It follows along Marine Parade and Erskine Terrace. This is not such a glitzy and family oriented area like the rest of the Golden Mile, although there is some entertainment, including playgrounds, trampolines and bike hire. There is a promenade along the golden sand, which runs uninterrupted all the way down to the Point, which can be seen in the distance. In contrast to North Beach there are not large, modern hotels along the Parade, and in fact the buildings become quite seedy towards the end of Erskine Terrace.
