Avoid This Hotelby Yahoo | 2009-02-16 19:42:06 |

The room I had was small and very dark. The coffee pot was in the bathroom and there was no fridge in the room. The fan was extremely noisy. The toilet was not bolted to the floor and banged against the wall every time you sat down or got up. The decor was dark and ugly. Our room faced the courtyard so we had no natural light coming in. This combined with a poor lighting and dark decor made it seem like we were staying in a cave. The elevator was broken which was not too bad until we had to haul luggage down the stairs. There are lots of other hotels nearby on Stony Plain Road, stay at one of them instead. I will not stay at the Mayfield again. The people have gave the hotel a positive rating must be employees trying to boost the ratings. I see I am not the only one who had a negative experience so I know it is not just me.

Horribleby Yahoo | 2008-12-20 20:51:50 |

My husband and I had booked a room in advance but there was nothing on record. We're lucky there was a room available or we would have been really ticked since our staff party was happening there. The temps outside were around -30C with a wind chill. Yes, we're smokers and felt every inch of that cold temp. Not only that but our room was set at between 17-18C. I couldn't warm up. What's up with the cold room in the fridgid north???? I wasn't a happy camper. I do not recomment this hotel!! Unless you like being cold all the time that is.

Horrible Experienceby Yahoo | 2007-04-23 16:38:03 |

We were assured that this room was the deluxe room and would have a fridge and that it was a nice refurbished room. We were given a room on the first floor, facing the parking lot, and it had no fridge. The room looked very standard, the beds were hard and squeaked. We went to front desk to ask directions to the pool in which I took my kids down a long corridor only to find an arena that we had to cross through, not being warned that we needed shoes so we could cross a loading area, we had to step around broken glass and walk through dirt! How horrible! As well food from room service sat for hours outside of rooms and then to top it off we could hardly sleep as we could hear the music from your pub! At $126 plus tax what an absolute disappointment!!! We could of stayed at the posh Westin downtown for less money!

Look for other hotelby Yahoo | 2006-08-03 19:14:01 |

We went to visit Edmonton a few weeks ago. We stayed one night then we went to another hotel. The rooms are old, carpet with stains, service was awful. For the same price or even cheape you can have a better service and hotel We really don't recommend it

I liked that it was near a hospital and near West Edmonton Mall.
