The vineyards of the Champagne region spread out as you travel to the historic village of Hautvillers, the birthplace of Champagne, where Dom Perignon, often considered as the "Father of Champagne", started its production.
In the morning visit "Champagne Nicolas Feuillatte" (or equivalent), a trendy champagne brand. This is also a cooperative of wine-growers near Epernay and the tour guide will choose one winery to visit. Explanation of blending, riddling and disgorging process followed by a free champagne tasting.
For lunch, you will stop in the centre of Epernay at a local restaurtant.
The afternoon begins at Reims, capital of the Champagne region. You'll stop at the world famous Mumm champagne house where an expert will offer an invaluable insight into the making of this prestigious label. The discovery of the cellars will be be followed by a champagne tasting session (one glass per person).
Before returning to Paris, you'll see the center of Reims and take a short visit of the Cathedral. It's a gothic masterpiece, where the Kings of France were crowned.
