This 4WD adventure along the West Coast to Monkey Mia is a must-do experience. For almost 30 years, three generations of wild bottle-nosed dolphins have made a ritual of visiting a remote beach at a small settlement called Monkey Mia, 527 miles (850 kilometers) north of Perth.
You'll visit all the highlights of the region, and experience life on a coastal sheep station on your overnight stop.
Day 1: Perth - Lynton Station (L, D)
Depart Perth and travel to the fishing community of Lancelin, here you can go sand boarding on the huge white sand dunes before making your way to Western Australia's unique Pinnacle Desert. After walking through this desert of limestone spires, you make our way to the historic Lynton convict settlement. Overnight Accommodation: Lynton Station
Day 2: Lynton Station - Shark Bay (B, L, D)
Explore coastal and inland regions of Kalbarri National including Natures Window and The Loop seeing abundant wildlife and spectacular scenery. You'll continue north to Shark Bay and the Stromatolites, stopping at Shell Beach.Overnight Accommodation: Monkey Mia Dolphin Lodge or Nanga Bay
Day 3: Monkey Mia (B, L, D)
After breakfast visit the famous dolphins of Monkey Mia, one of a few places in the world dolphins from the wild come to meet people. The morning is spent interacting with these amazing creatures. Please note, dolphin appearances are not guaranteed. Take the opportunity to go sailing in the Bay. Overnight Accommodation: Geraldton
Day 4: Geraldton to Perth (B, L)
Depart Geraldton this morning and travel south to Yanchep National Park, where you will have lunch overlooking Lake McNess. This afternoon spend time learning about Aboriginal culture and dreamtime with the Noongar people, before arriving in Perth at approximately 5:30pm. From May to September (Winter), you will not visit Yanchep National Park.
