By Air:

The main bus station is located southwest of the city and offers daily service on lines to Caracas and Maracaibo. Major bus lines include Expresos Occidente, Expresos Merida, and Expresos Flamingo.

By Car:
From Caracas Merida can be accessed via Barinas. It is also accessible by the Trans-Andean Highway, which provides a scenic route through the Andes.

Getting around:
Taxis and the local tramway offer transportation throughout the city. The cable car provides a spectacular view of the city, as long as it's running properly.
