This small hotel, located across the street from TheatreBooks in Toronto's elite Yorkville area, was built in 1927. Closed in 1991, the property was restored in 1995 and recently re-opened to offer the luxury of Neo-Gothic design combined with modern conveniences. Rooms range in size from 500 to 1,500 square feet. The luxurious stained glass and archways throughout the hotel match the elegant exterior. A caviar lounge, Club 22 dance club, Courtyard Cafe and poolside fireplace are just a few of the highlights.

Unbelievably Bad Hotel - Not Luxury Not 5 Star
100 words is nowhere near enough to explain how dreadful this hotel is. Bar & restaurant closed for functions, noise from functions clearly audible in top floor suites, surly doormen, toiletries changed only once in a 5 day stay, room service cancelled once (more than 40 minutes for croissant & coffee!) & once delivered cold food with no condiments or tea pot, no glasses for mini-bar was told to use water glasses from toilet, requests to concierge not acted upon despite asking weeks before arrival, crowded tiny lobby everynight with people attending functions, no in-room movies, was not shown how to use electronic equipment, bathroom noise & cigar smoke from adjoining room - they may as well have been staying with us! I couldn't wait to leave.

Don't Know

Why? / Why Not?
At $800 to $1,000 a night this place is a massive rip-off! Can do far better for less. I'll be returning to The Park Hyatt for sure.
