Baur au Lac is situated most advantageously at a mere 20 steps from Paradeplatz and Bahnhofstrasse, 25 steps from Lake Zurich and just a minute's walk from Bellevue. It is an excellent mix of business and pleasure - central, but not hectic. Belonging to the elite group of Swiss Deluxe Hotels, Baur au Lac is one of the most ritzy, if not the ritziest hotel in the area. Numerous well-to-do international guests come and go throughout the year; not surprisingly, it's Jaguars, Bentleys and Rolls Royces that pull up at the door. The hotel clearly has a classically aristocratic and exclusive style to it. Numerous shop windows displaying haute couture and jewelry can be found here as well. Guests may choose between 125 air-conditioned rooms, and all have access to the hotel's new fitness club with a breathtaking view over the lake and the Alps; there is also an in-house nightclub and a ! bar for evening entertainment. If you need a new hairdo, then make your way to the hotel's own hair salon. Other ammenities include the Rive Gauche restaurant, also open to the public, a garden restaurant, function rooms, equipped with conference facilities, and a hotel parking lot.
