BEAUTIFUL
The staff at the Baur au Lac were simply lovely, extremly friendly. The rooms were magnificent as was the whole hotel, I highly reccomend the 'Rive Gauche' restaurant as the food was impecable and the service very efficient. I could not have asked for a more enjoyable visit. I do reccomend wearing smart clothes around the hotel to match the elegance of the hotel itself!

a wonderful place
although somewhat expensive, this is an exquisite hotel, and provides for a wonderful stay in Zurich. Large rooms, a park like setting, and a nice breakfast . The staff is friendly, helpful, and of course efficient. If you can afford it, you are sure to enjoy your stay here.

Pompous general manager
Management did not recognize a AAA reservation and ended up charging a rack rate at the end of the stay. They are sleezy. Avoid at all cost!

worst vacation
I liked it becauce of it's location, but they wouldn't let me keep my whole family there because they leased our room to other people, cause our flight was delayed, and we spent half the night out side the hotel looking for another.

My bad experience
I stayed at this hotel for 4 nights for vacation. I was wearing shorts, t shirt and sneakers when I was going in the hotel and I was stopped by the door guard. I told him that I was checking in and he looked at me like he didn't believe me, then he put up a smile and took me to the front desk. I looked around and most of the guests are over 50 and they all in business formal. On the next day, I went to the front desk and ask them if they can show me where the business center is and the guy asked me "Why?" @_@!!... I forgive them, maybe they don't have many young guests like me, so he didn't expect a 30 yr old would stay at their hotel during vacation.
