St. Thomas Aquinas' burial place
For anyone interested in the history of the Church or in great minds of the middle ages, this is a must-see location. Secluded along a side street, the humble exterior belies the significance of what lies inside. St Thomas Aquinas, one of the Church's most brilliant minds and teachers, is buried under the altar table. Also not to be missed is the palm roof - a beautiful and absolutely unique piece of architecture. The only con to the church is that non-students and seniors must pay a fee to enter the serene cloister, which seemed a bit high. All told, however, if you came looking for St Thomas Aquinas, you likely won't flinch at the cost - in any event, still worth it for the view.
