La Destilería gives the Caribbean all the typical flavors of cuisine from Guadalajara, which includes tortas ahogadas, bread filled with stew and covered in a red hot sauce, stuffed poblano pepper and fish with coriander. Finish off the meal with a sample of tequila, the always-popular national drink, as the restaurant has over 150 different types available. Specialties include dishes such as Chiquihuite Maximiliano, pastries stuffed with chicken, cream cheese and huitlachoche, a type of mushroom that grows on corn that is native only in this region. Poblano peppers are a side dish.
