Back to Lesedi Cultural Village It's Wonderful and it's AFRICA! I wouldn't pay attention to "stinks" he clearly sticks out like a sore thumb amongst the other reviews and I wonder what his manners were like for the Manager and staff to dislike him ~ they are the most friendly, welcoming people you would wish to meet.
Reviewed by: Antbear from on Sep 08 2009 responce to "stinks" i believe that this visitor didnt research the place well before he came to Lesedi, how can he say that it stinks,God as an african i am offended and lesedi brings you a taste of real native african taste.first of all it might have been the african deco, remember that when you go to lesedi you want a true african experience so if you are sensitive to cow dung being used on the floor, african food being cooked on the open braai area, and all the other things that WE as african think they are our daily lives and you regard them as they stink i believe next time you come to south africa you must visit sandton there you will find your standards, thanks.
Reviewed by: SIFISO from on May 29 2009 really great "taste" of native african culture We took and evening tour and were quite impressed by show. No where else in our 2 week stay in Joberg did we learn as much about the tribes of South African. The dinner meal was very nice with enough options to please many different taste. One of the highlights of our our trip to SA.
Reviewed by: roswell from on May 26 2009 Fantastic Experience This place makes you feel welcome form the moment you step out of your car. As am african american i was wanting to have a full cultural expericen but did not have much time . I stayed here for 2 days and learned a lot and loved the food, people and the show that they put on. The rooms are fantastic like a 4 star hotel but they are actual huts. I wouldnt mind living in one. Stephen in the gift shop is amazing. It is not inexpensive to stay here in comparrison to other places but even if you just stay for one night you will love it.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Mar 05 2009 ex south african tourist guide First of all, there's nothing to dislike about this spectacular cultural village. The staff are wonderful, management are on the ball and the traditional food is "baie lekker"!!! Location wise, it's very central to reach from just about evey major suburb around Johannesburg. The atmosphere is electric, the "vibes" are magic and the traditional African dancing in the boma is senstional. Very much worth while visiting.Great value for money and an eye opener for many!!!
Reviewed by: butch from on Feb 17 2007 True Africa! My day at Lesedi Cultural Village in Johannesburg was phenomenal! Even me as a South African learnt about cultures, ways of life and amazing stories that revolved around the Zulus, Besotho, Pedi, Ndebele etc, after having lived here my entire life. The tour was fantastic, the food was a traditional African meal (not everybody would enjoy it), and the staff and tour guides will friendly, entertaining and insightful. Thumbs up to Lesedi.
