The soul of this museum is its spacious wing dedicated to Modern American artists like Rothko, de Kooning, Pollock and their contemporaries. The museum has the second largest private collection of Andy Warhol’s works. It also features Oceanic and American Indian art, a sizable Old Masters collection and a beautiful sculpture garden. The BMA is also home to the Cone collection, which is a treasury of Early Modern masterpieces.

The mystery tales and detective stories of Edgar Allan Poe are explored in the exhibit 'Art of Darkness: Inspired by Poe'. Hosted by the Baltimore Museum of Art, the stories are narrated in an unique way—drawings, prints and books are utilized to represent themes like 'loss', 'fear' and 'obsession' that formed the core of Poe's works. Do drop-in for a spine-chilling and edgy experience.
Matisse as Printmaker

This exhibit features over 100 prints by Henri Matisse. It displays a large variety of prints, from lithographs, etchings, monotypes and many more. Several works of note include Poésies de Stephane Mallarmé, Jazz and Pasiphaë.
