Good and Bad
It is a great thing that the city has decided to clean up the river and make the area a bit more friendly.

Truckin' the River Walk
Reno has greatly enhanced its urban area - aside from the casino/condo conversions.

20K people
I lived in Reno as a small child of 7 to my 13th b-day. Reno had a population of around 20K people. The Truckee River was my life. We used to ride our horses all over the place and end up everyday at the river. I used to catch baby fish in my cowboy boots where the fish ladder used to be just before the Virginia street bridge. I was thrilled to death when I heard they were building the river walk. I went to McKinley Park School in the 2nd & 3rd grade. What a beautiful area it has become. I am now 60 and just had my right knee replaced and am now able to walk the River for the first time since I was a child. I'm so happy for the citizen of this great town

Romantic
Our hotel (Plaza) was located right next to the Truckee river. Everyday we would stroll the river walk, maybe grab a bite to eat and sit on one of the many benches and watch kayakers maneuver their way along the river. It's a beautiful site, w/ the mountains in the background and the city landscape.

My Comfort Zone
I love it there! Whenever I'm feeling even the slightest down, I go there and instantly feel better. It's beautiful. The shops are awesome and unique. The movie theatre there is my favorite. In the summer, there are movies and diffent types of musical/dancing events that go on at Wingfield Theatre. About every different type of person that you can think of shows up there and everyone gets along really well. The Kayak Park is super fun also! My favorite place in Reno to go!

Can't wait to see it in the winter time!
We really enjoy walking, so when we discovered the River Walk last Summer, we were pleasantly surprised. It is landscaped beautifully with small waterfalls coming out of the side of the walk ways, each one with a different wild animal motif. Plenty of benches and seating along the walkway for those who would just like to stop and enjoy watching the Truckee River flow. t is close to the Casinos and downtown.
