Back to Royal Gorge Cross Country Ski Resort
This is a wonderful and huge cross country area. Gets you right out into the wilderness compared to other resorts (such as Tahoe Donner that is in the middle of a development). Great variety and long trails. Well groomed. Very nice base facilities. They do not always groom trails out to two of the big attractions (Point Mariah and Devil's Peak. Best there is.)

Under the old owner, John, this was the worst ski area I've been to. Very little value for the money. Friends lost lots of money when the old cabin burned and they were not refunded money. Tahoe Donner, a nearby, smaller resort is much friendlier and has great skiing as well. His minons chased back country skiers if they just crossed his groomed tracks to get to the area behind the resort. I hope the new ownership is better
