Hotel San Jose - Lacking the "Human Factor"
I've always heard great things about the Hotel San Jose and being familiar with South Congress Street, know it to be in a great location, which is why it's hard to write anything negative about the place. I'll let my review do the talking:

Pleasant surprise!
I stayed at this hotel because it is right across the street from the Continental Club. I was pleasantly surpirsed that I was also withhin walking distance from many shops and restaurants, plus a wonderful coffee bar!

Worth It!!
The place was clean and the decor simple and nice. It's close to entertainment, shopping, and dining. I recommend this hotel. Oh yeah--I stayed in a room with a great rate.

What a GEM!
I work in the hotel business (boutique) and wherever I travel, I like to stay in something OTHER than a chain hotel. This is a great hotel! Cute from the inside out... reminiscent of an old style roadway motel stop. Great courtyard where there is music and drink. Don't stay here if you need a good nights rest, the music doesn't stop until 11pm and the noise from the courtyard is also loud (but I can sleep through a train wreck). I would go back!

Cowboy Domicile
This Hotel is very cool maintained beautifully by independent owners (no chains). It's located next door to Jo's a cool coffee/beer stand that's open early/late. The Hotel provides cool handmade soaps and shampoo/conditioner. You can even use the flip flops to strole their many garden pathways. Tres chic!

Got the t-shirt
My only complaint about the hotel is that it's always packed making it hard to make a reservation! The place is clean. Hip. Great location. Overall the best hotel I've ever stayed at.

Loved it!
Charming, hip, cool & trendy. Excellent nightlife. Streamlined, clean room. Great neighborhood. Close to restaurants, bars, shopping, ice cream & Town Lake & downtown. We can't wait to go back.

Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful
The Hotel San Jose was great. The atmosphere is very relaxing. The first night we got there, we got a couple of drinks and lounged in the courtyard area. The rooms are very comfortable. There's no carpet, which is actually great, because concrete doesn't hold previous guests' odors. Just about everything provided was organic or hypo-allergenic. It's a great place for people with highly sensitive systems. It was very, very clean, and the service was impeccable. I highly recommend it.

Absolutely eclectic
This hotel has a little bit of everything. It's fun, lively, and different then the regular, boring hotels I'm used to. We had a great time. Austin is the best!
