The atmosphere of La Porta del Sasso is magical and inviting with a succession of enchanting old wine cellars which bear the unmistakable imprint of the poet Tonino Guerra. There are no great wines, but in compensation, there are also no high prices. The food is straightforward with no surprises. From starters (vegetable pie, little fritters, Polenta and Gorgonzola, artichokes in puff pastry), to the first courses (good Strozzapreti (pasta) with broccoli and Pendolini and a thick chick-pea soup. The puddings are pleasant; the simple chestnuts in rum are sublime.
