A Warm Welcome
"Welcome" says it all about this small and charming hotel. If you want a unique, boutique, non-chain hotel, with an extremely helpful and cheerful staff, then this is the place to stay! My son and I stay at this hotel every chance we get when traveling through Belgium. It is affordable, clean, and it is a comfort to know that after a long and weary flight across the ocean, we will be greeted at the airport upon arrival and whisked off without hassle or wait by Mr. Smeesters, the owner, for a reasonable cost. Always greeted with good cheer by Vanessa and the rest of the staff, as well as they have the perfect cup of hot coffee waiting for you when arriving... It's location is perfect for catching the train/subway or walking to the Grand Place, many good restaurants in the neighborhood, as well as a movie theater around the corner if you are in the mood (English movies are kept in original language and subtitled in Flemish and French). If you are looking for room service, butlers, and bellhops to jump at your call, then you need to find a larger chain hotel... This hotel has rooms, each unique, and my favorite of all being a very small room at the top of the building, tucked in the dormers and overlooking the rooftops - the Bali room! Looking forward to our next stay in November, 2006!!!!
