Guided tour through the Mill Museum
2009-01-01 to 2009-12-31 Guided tours are offered at the Mill Museum in Galway. The tour includes a walk through the miller's house, a look at miniature examples of the mills, as well as the present day mill wheel which still turns as the machinery is functional! A slideshow on the history of the place and its surroundings are also part of the tour.

This mill was a hive of activity in the little town of Tuam in days gone by. Farmers displayed their produce here and much of town life centred around the mill. The corn mill closed as a working mill in 1964. However, as it had been such a lifeline to the community a voluntary committee refurbished it, and it re-opened as a museum in 1974. In the restored miller's house visitors can still see the antiquated machinery still in operation just as it was many years ago. There is no admission charge but donations are welcomed.
