Fun at the Zoo!
My daughter and two grandchildren noticed all the new improvements made since our last visit. The new lion cubs sure have grown. We liked the new umbrellas at eating tables and the new train. Yea! More shade. We enjoye the Attic room. While in Rain Forest a CooCoo bird jumped on my shoulder! The kids loved that! Thanks! Very clean!

avoid the buildings!
Ok for something to do but very outdated! Avoid the buildings epecially if you have a stroller/wheelchair as the doors hve floor to ceiling chains and are difficult to manuever. Once you start in the buildings must go through all 4-5 of them. Besides the buildings stink as in animal stink! Do ride carosel and train as these are the only reason my daughter (4) likes to go to the zoo, but note they are seasonal so check websight first.

Woohoo the Zoo!
Pretty neat zoo, same as all the rest. There was nothing really fascinating to tell about.

I will never go back!
The facilities are outdated and not green or accessible. There should be a recycling container at EVERY trash can. Also, the restroom I used was out of soap and the hand dryer thing was out of order. I was extremely disappointed that things were not very handicapped accessible. I had a baby in a stroller and it was not easy to get around at all. Half of the door openers didn't work when I pushed them and some of them didn't even have the covers still attached. Also, the paths and walkways weren't all smooth for wheelchairs and/or strollers. I would HATE to be in a wheelchair and live in the Tulsa area because you can't do anything. The cave exhibit is not accessible at all, and neither are the viewing ramps at the seal exhibit. I got the feeling that disabled people must somehow seem to be less important customers to you because they don't get to see half of the things you have to offer. I will never come back to the Tulsa Zoo.

Okay but not amazing
I love going to zoos, so what ever city I'm in I usually stop by the zoo. This one was okay but I've seen better. The paths really don't match up and it's hard to know if you miss animals. But hey if you've nothing else to do I'd go.

Glad I Went To The Oklahoma Aquarium The Same Day
I went to this zoo with my family with high hopes becasue they had the 2 female elephants from the Oklahoma City Zoo and my daughter so loves the elephants. When we got there, we were able to see all of the animals in about 20 minutes. There just weren't any to speak of. Yes living museum is right. There are more museum exhibits than anything. Don't get me wrong, the animal habitats are great, well thought out, and spacious for the most part. However, they only have a fifth of the animals that OKC has even with half of it under construction. This zoo just doesn't compare to OKC when it comes to the variety of animals. I am glad that I didn't take my kids 120 miles just for this zoo. I loved the Oklahoma Aquarium, well worth the money. The Tulsa Zoo, don't go to Tulsa for just the zoo if you live more than 30 minutes away, you will be disappointed if you think you are going for a zoo. The other thing I had a real problem with was the train. The train engineer didn't hesitate at the crossings to make sure no one was in the way, he didn't really explain anything about the zoo, and I have never been on a train like that going so fast before. It was a waste of time and money. There was even one time where the train had passed the signal gates even before they closed. All in all, if you want a nice place to have a picnic that has a few animals and a little museum feel, this is the place, other than that, save your money for a free day.

DISAPPOINTING ZOO feel bad for animals......
The price of the zoo is really low comparing to other zoo's but the lack of staff and employees made this zoo abismal. There is really a lack of animals and empty exhibits; animals that were there looked neglected and sad, many of them without food or water. One example was a single bear i saw today that was walking back and forth who looked really sad and lonely and a pig that had no water and food in there pen. Many of places that should've had staff personnel were empty and my visit there there were no caretakers for the animals. The area is quite large but the amount of walking you need to do in between animals isn't worth the walk.

Great zoo!!!Couldn't be happier!!!
We went to the zoo in August. It was very warm that day, but we still had an enjoyable time. The zoo was easy to walk through, also very accessible with a stroller!!!!The food prices were a little high, but most zoos are. All of the staff were friendly, and the train and the carousel were good things for the kids to do cheap. If you do go, I would get the pass where you can ride the train and carousel and visit the butterfly garden as many times as you want, because these were favorites with my two.
