Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Nov 21 2008 Over-priced While staff were friendly, the furniture in the room was poorly kept (tears in cushions, etc.) and the price at C$175 was high for this facility. Pool was small and closed early.

Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Aug 06 2006 Not a bad place - nice and clean We spent 2 nights at this hotel, and overall, found it to be fine. The rooms were spacious with 2 full beds and a pullout, 2 TVs and a kitchenette. The bathroom is very small with little counter space and if you don't close the lid on the toilet, may have to fish items out! A room that accomodates 6 people needs a larger bathroom. The pool is small, but clean, and the outdoor hot tub was also clean, but had little ambiance, as it is off the parking lot. We enjoyed a soak anyway, and the kids had fun in the pool. Once I closed the window, I found the train noise not so bad, but the first night with the window open, I contemplated asking to change to the other side of the hotel. The front desk was friendly, and check in and out was quick. They happily upgraded our Sunday breakfast to a brunch, but did try to charge $60 more than quoted at check out. They did honor the quoted price without a problem - just watch your bill. Overall, I think I would try somewhere else next time, but it was a nice weekend, and wouldn't tell anyone not to stay there.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Apr 11 2005 Good value. Excellent value when booked on a promotion (Sunshine Card - $63 Cnd), rooms have a partial kitchen and a good layout. Staff were friendly and efficient. Not bothered by the trains but after a day of skiing I'm a heavy sleeper. We have enjoyed several stays here.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Feb 23 2005 Demolish and Try Again... The Chateau Canmore is delightfully situated within mere feet of a set of railway tracks. The entire structure shakes as the train cars pass by. While this might seem fine during the day, it is not so when the trains pass by at 12:45AM, 2:00AM and 4:45AM. If you stay here, bring earplugs. If sleep is an important part of your day, pass by this hotel.
