Contoy - Bird Paradise
Great trip if you can handle boats on the open water. We had a great company take us called Snorkle Cancun. The trip takes about 2 hrs each way.

WONDERFUL
Although I was hesitant to get on a boat (prone to seasickness), I truly enjoyed the trip to Isla Contoy. The pristine island was by far, my favorite thing about Cancun. The biologist/guide was outstanding and as we learned about the wildlife, we also enjoyed bbq and tequila! It was truly a perfect day, fun and educational...but in a really cool way.

Interesting and Fun
The boat trip over from Isla Mujeres to Isla Contoy was great. Fellow travelers were from Veracruz, Mexico. We stopped for an hour or so of snorkeling in an area where a guide is required and one may touch NOTHING. The plant life was like nothing I'd ever seen before as I'd only been snorkling on less protected reefs. We enjoyed the views, the nesting frigate birds, the short hike around the island. The lunch was incredible and the opportunity to meet and feed a manta ray was certainly something to talk about with friends at home. If you're on Isla Mujeres and want easy access to something very special in the way of "ecotourismo", sign up for that boat to Isla Contoy! Well worth it. BG Santa Cruz, CA

We'll be back......
The opportunity to see part of mexico in an unspoiled, undeveloped state was truly priceless. after visiting several other tourist attractions over two separate visits to the cancun area (xcaret, xel-ha, bullfights, isla mujeres, tulum, chichen-itza, chankanaab and punta sur on cozumel) we would definitely rate the hospitality and knowledge of the staff as THE VERY BEST of all of our other experiences. we'll be back!!!!!!!!! Thank you el doktor jaime and also the boat crew who grilled our delicious lunch
