Back to Incline Railway A must go for every trip to Chattanooga Great for children and adults. My parents took me as a child and now I take my children. The Observation area is fun and the ride is great!
Reviewed by: CB from on Sep 06 2009 A blast, but "conductors" aren't always funny A great ride up and back. Get there early (before it opens) and avoid a long wait. Not for those who aren't fond of heights.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Jul 16 2009 NEVER AGAIN! We parked at the bottom & rode up.
Reviewed by: Debbie from on Jun 22 2009 great for kids This is great for kids but the line is what causes the grief. It was interesting to hear the history of the railway, but think that kids enjoy it more. It being a train and going uphill and all.
Reviewed by: Stacia from on Feb 19 2009 Not worth it... SAVE YOUR MONEY I went with my partner to Chattanooga and we did the Incline Car down and then up. I parked the car, went in to get quarters, and when I came out, found a ticket on my windshield. I looked around and no one was there. No one inside seemed concerned.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on May 11 2008 Good ! I was a bit scared at first to ride it because of the incline of it, but it was nothing and it was pretty awesome!!!!
Reviewed by: Bhoomika from on May 17 2007 Dis this Ride!!! The ride was very slow and not to senenic, overgrown bushes and alot of pavement. Not very friendly operators. coming down a little better than going up.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on May 02 2007 Parking meters are a tourist trap! A few years ago, my family didn't have a lot of money saved but wanted to go off for vacation. I was told Chattanooga and Lookout Mountain was a great place to go on a budget. We enjoyed the whole trip with the exception of the incline railway. We made the mistake of parking at the top station. The meters there are over priced, and only give about a quarter of the time promised. I thought I caught the trap and put in extra quarters giving myself plenty of time.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Nov 08 2006 Ride to the top, look around, go back down I had ridden the incline railway about 20 years ago with my parents.
Reviewed by: Robert from on Jul 31 2006 Lookout for the busses Best advice is to go elsewhere if you see a tour bus in their lot. They have two cars and seating is limited. It is first come - first serve. When the line is long you get to wait and wait. Were advised to park in lower lot (free) due to parking meters on top. Staff was unconcerned about delays.
