La Riviera is situated in a former police station right at the southern end of the Swing Bridge, only a minute's walk from Newcastle's Quayside. The large windows offer splendid views of the Castle, and the Tyne Bridge. The restaurant markets itself as a place to have fun as well as simply to eat, and this intention is enhanced by the bubbly efficiency of the staff.
