Back to Gasthof Wilder Mann A Big Hit! This place had terrific food, good prices and a very cozy atmosphere. If crowded, which it was on both nights we went, be prepared to sit with others..a bit awkward by American standards, but fun. Robert, the

My wife has a crush on this big friendly Austrian, and his kind staff have made two of our meals so far this week some of the best we've had during our 5 month around the world trip! He's a great guy, it's a great place, you will have a great time! We will be eating there again before we leave Salzburg. Ask Robert for the history of the place-what a great story! And see the pics on the wall-a picture is worth a thousand words.

The goulash was excellent, the variety of Stiegl beers good and the place was spotless--including the restrooms. Owner was working the restaurant and clearly puts an emphasis on proper service. We'd definitely return.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Oct 13 2007 Good Local Restaurant Great place for Austria food. Well priced a little difficult to find but worth the hunt. Friendly staff large portions. Schnitzel is good - stuffed with onions, bacon and mushrooms - mushrooms were from a tin unfortunately. Pumpkin soup was excellent. Save room for Hot Apple Strudel with Vanilla Cream yummy.

Reviewed by: FatBastard! from on Nov 16 2006 Don't go here It was dreadful. We were there in September 2005. The place had just changed hands and no table reservations were possible. The staff were extremely inattentive, and the food no better than a Uni Cafeteria. We wanted to try 'wiener schnitzel'; it was full of fat, gristle, burn (from the deep fryer!!!!!) and extremely dry.
