Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Jul 13 2007 Why? Sure, the architecture is beautiful, but there's really nothing to actually *do* in the galleria. Except eat fast food and blow money on overpriced souvenirs.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Mar 07 2007 My trip to Galleria Vittorio Emanuele I quite liked it. It was very busy but we didn't seem to notice seen that all the shopkeepers were firndly. All in al it was quite a fun experience.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Oct 16 2006 Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II I have visited Milano twice so far(both with the last 10 months)and have visited the Galleria a number of times during both visits. It is the true heart of the city next to the Duomo. It is said the inspiration for it came from covered galleries in Paris and London, but in my opinion it leaves 19th Century London shopping galleries in the shade by its sheer size, elegance, and aspect. I found the place awe inspiring, almost like a cathedral for lovers of architecture, style and grace. It's a great location to to look around the few shops within it(including Prada)or enjoy a meal or drink in one of the restaurants or bars and watch the chic Milanese go by. The main facade of the Galleria in Piazza del Duomo is equally impressive with its great arched entrance drawing you in. To the rear is Piazza alla Scala(for the opera house).Despite my 5 star rating, the presence of a well known fast food chain right at the heart of the Galleria spoils the experience of Milanese chic. Enjoy.
