Audio Guide While everyone in Aix knows the road named after Gaston-de-Saporta, few still remember this courageous scientist who discovered a deposit of fossils between Manosque and Forcalquier about 40 kilometers (25 miles) north of the town. The Natural History Museum concentrates on palaeontology, and you can admire a beautiful collection of fossils gathered by this scholar who was ahead of his time. Most of the finds he discovered were around Mount Ste-Victoire, where dinosaur eggs are still found. There is also a large library of 3500 titles in the fields of science, nature and palaeontology.
