Back to Rottnest Island Pretty Cool and a beautiful place. We took the ferry out and the weather was great. Not much to do on the island other than ride bikes or swim. Limited food choices. Don't get me wrong, we had a good time and if you want to see incredible beaches this is the place for you. Very slow paced. We rode our rented bikes all around the island and took some great pictures. Plan on it taking most of a day.
Reviewed by: Michael M from on Nov 21 2009 Week on Rottie. Oh how I wish Took entire family, in-laws too. Great week for all age groups 68 to 6years. Truly the place to say no worries. The fishing ,the walking, the little units, stayed in Jackson. So it cost money, everything does. We are returning to Perth again this year but won't get a trip this time to Rottie. But a marvellous place to see in my minds eye on a very gray day in Lanceshire UK or at the dentist. Thomson Bay to Fish Hook Bay loved every moment. Where else do the Rays come up to watch you fishing from the jetty. Or the daily visits from the quokkas. Heaven !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11

A must do if you have the time
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Jan 01 2008 Brilliant - especially the Quoka's I loved visiting Rottnest. Practically all of the day spent there was fab. The only downside was all the seagulls scavanging for food at the restaurant by the dock. Apart from that - brilliant!!
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Nov 04 2007 Always again! The island is small, we rent bikes and got a trip through the island - it takes only 3 hours. The beaches are simply wonderful - WOW! They wasn´t overcrowded. We´ve got a beach only for our use.
Reviewed by: Jode from on Jan 19 2007 Dissapointing After all the hype about visiting Rottnest, we were dissapointed & would not go back. Very expensive for the ferry trip. Too commercialised with all the take-aways,Dome coffee shop, etc. Far too crowded for our liking. Not easy to get around with small kids who can't cycle the distances. Perth beaches are just as beautiful & are free!
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Jan 06 2007 we had so much fun we liked the fact that there was no cars on the road. we also loved the snorkeling and diving on the island it was magic. the pelicans where also very beautiful and so were the quokas. we did find it a bit expensive though.
Reviewed by: tom from on Dec 06 2006 Chill Rottnest Style..... Upon arrival by ferry at the port you know this place is going to be great. apart from the Island bus no vehicles, just bikes or foot to get about.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Nov 15 2006 excellent hideaway This superb island is a real hideaway. Its white sandy beaches and turquiose waters makes us jump and swim. There are lots of colorfish to look at and the beach is not crowded. So you are in a safe haven. You can rent a pushbike and cycle around the island. the scenery is awesome. Yes... this is a perfect hideaway for everyone when you are visiting Perth WA Australia
