Could have been allot better
Myself and five friends went to have breakfast at the pub. It was my first and last experience there. While the menu was creative the service in particular the hostess was horrible. We were told we would have a 15 minute wait only to be seated and hour later in a remote section to the back of the restauant which we were informed had actually been available the entire time we waited. The hostess was rude and unfriendly. The hostess was unfriendly and not helpful. Not to mention that after showing us our table she turned around and ran into me and just walked off. We were finally served coffee after we got up and requested service. The food was ok.
Would you recommend this to a friend?
Don't Know

Why? / Why Not?
Bad Service. We complained to management and were told he was sorry but one of the girls who served us was working her second last shift and that he doesn't controle the kitchen.

We keep going back
We have been going every Sat. for breakfast for the last year, and have yet not to be totally satisfied with the food and the Service.

Best Elgin St. venue for meeting friends...
The #1 thing about the Lieutenant's Pump, in my humble opinion, is it's complete lack of pretention. There's plenty of Elgin St. poser bars, but "The Pump" is not one of them. It's a neighbourhood pub, in the English tradition (with menu to match), and it perfect for meeting up with a group of friends and having a relaxing time over a good selection of beverages (including domestic and imported pints), or to watch the game on the screens (in plasma HDTV to boot!). There's no techno-babble music to get in the way of a spirited conversation here...Thursday to Saturday nights, it can get rather crowded in there, as people know a good thing when they see it, and keep coming back for more. The Pump is comprised of three different rooms, with a bar in each one...as well as a darts room, and a multi-tier patio in the warmer months. One of the best omelettes I ever had was on a Sunday Brunch excurion there...Barry
