This Italian favorite has been a staple on the Upper East Side for over 12 years. Grace Balducci Doria (of Balducci's Market fame) and her husband own both the restaurant and attached market, and as any true New Yorker will tell you, no one knows Italian food better than the Balduccis. Not only is the food delicious, the staff is wonderful. The best word to describe the decor is delicious. The space is very bright and colorful, with a very Italian country feel right down to the checkered tablecloths and baskets filled with rustic bread. Though they sell everything from burritos to pizza (which is all tasty) this is the place to go for pasta. From the linguine with white clam sauce to the bucatini pizzaiola, not a dish in this place will disappoint. They also carry a fine selection of Italian wines.
