We went back to Roma for a 4th time and with friends who had not been before.This was our second New Year's Eve visit and we were very, very disappointed! We expected the service to be slow but having arrived at 8pm we were still eating well past 11pm!!! My wife and I had the Chateaubriand and after the Sea food Chowder she could only eat half the portion of steak. She asked to take the rest of the main course home with her and it was given to her in a carton. When we returned home, it was placed in our fridge and we did not bother to check the contents until the following evening. Only 3 pieces of the steak were there and not 4 and all the vegetables were missing, what little we had of them because those portions were small! It left a sour taste I'm afraid, especially when I telephoned that evening to explain what had happened thinking that maybe honesty and their reputation might come into the equation!? Not so, I'm still waiting to hear from the manager who was just too busy at the time to even offer an apology!! I think that we will look elsewhere-regardless of the view!?!?

The management and staff are first class. We live abroad but whenever we are in Durban, South Africa, at least one meal at the Roma is a must - it feels like coming home! The views are awesome overlooking Durban.

It is the perfect setting for the perfect view of beautiful DURBS while enjoying a sumptious gourmet meal with our loved ones.

Simply great food, the best tomatosoup you have ever tasted combined with the most extraordinary view and friendly service, makes us go back again + again.

We visited South Africa from Europe a few years ago and then again last year. Both times we visited the Roma, twice in the evenings and once for lunch. It was amazing we celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary meal there, and still dream about going back. The sea food was the best I have ever tasted, and the sweets were to die for.

I enjoyed absolutely every moment of my visit to Roma. It was my 21st birthday and..I have no regrets that I spent my evening there. They had a lovely board up in the window wishing me a happy birthday, the waiters were so friendly and helpful. They spoilt me with red roses, took a photo that they would post to me.The staff were exceptional..One of the waiters has been working there for 26 years..so by that you can tell....they've certainly got the experience.The food was divine...It was the most memorable time ever. Thank you to the staff and management for a night I will NEVER forget!!!!!!!

I did not like that it was hard to get the attention of the waiters when you needed something,I think a bell or a light switch should be placed on every table, so it is easier to call for attention without distracting other patrons.otherwise this place is magic,great ''hot'' food,great survice,great welcome.

I went to the Roma revolving restaurant on the 29th of December to celebrate my birthday, with total disgust at the restaurant, Firstly when we arrived at the restaurant we were seated in a small little area in the middle of the walkway on a table that was seated side by side and not on either side of the table. We waited for over 45 minutes before being waited and a further 1h.15 minutes before being served. The waiter was very rude and unwelcoming, he yawned for most of the night the only good part of the evening was the orders man and the meal itself. I had fruit salad for desert which looked a few days old in taste and mouth feel. As a food technologist by trade i was totally shocked by the display.

It was awesome. Our meal was excellent and it was cooked by the chef in front of us. WOW!! The waiter was very informative and invited us to take a look at the harbour from the roof top - with our glass of wine. The ambiance is one to remember for a very long time.

Excellent view and food. The restaurant opened early for us to sit at the bar. Fabulous food. Will spend some more time there whenever I visit SA.
