Good value for decent food and strong drinks
Moose's is in Lahaina and Kihei, and in Kihei they also run Fred's Mexican. Overall it's fine for what it is. Relatively inexpensive, a fair amount of deep fried stuff, but things like the fried Maui onion rings are worth the stop. Mostly it's a bar, and gets hopping at night, in both locations. Noisy. Good service (attentive especially to drinks) and by the way, they don't skimp on the booze in their drinks -- they know where their patronage comes from. But earlier in the evening it's kid friendly and you can get anything from fine burgers to respectable baked opakapaka (why most places serve fish with bland rice and the frozen vegetable medley you can get from Costco I don't know, however). And they have happy hour, so the drinks can be practically free. ($2 margaritas?)
Would you recommend this to a friend?
