Back to Hilton Atlanta Disappointed and don't want to go back next year Attended a week long conference at the hotel this spring and I am hoping the conference planners choose a different site for next year. Though the support staff was friendly, the prices are outrageous and conflicted with other attendees in my group. The prices of some things varied depending on who you asked. Also ran into the issue of $50.00 per day deposit on debit card use if that is what you are paying your hotel bill with for your stay. They don't want your cash, though I offered to give it to them up front for the whole week. Very confusing and frustrating. Continental breakfast each day was boring and full of carbs - only protein to speak of was a boiled egg each day. The remainder was cereal, breads/muffins/pastries, fruit, some plain yoghurt, juice, coffee, tea and water. To eat a regular bacon and eggs breakfast in their restaurant it will cost $21.00; a bowl of oatmeal is $8.00, which I feel is way too spendy. They never asked if anyone was on a special diet, so you must be proactive in this matter. If you must stay downtown, go across the street to the parking garage, up to the 7th floor skywalk over to the Peachtree mall area and eat at one of the "fast-food" places there. Many of them, such as Dairy Queen, I think, open at 6am and provide breakfast for under $5.00. Eating at the hotel that week I was there I spent more on food and snacks than I spend on a whole month of groceries at home. It would be nice if they had would also provide a microwave and small refrigerator in the room for cold drinks considering how hot Atlanta can be. My room was fairly clean, but I also noticed where it was in need of repairs in the bathroom and entry way. This is a large hotel, so if you want to be away from the noise of the elevators let them know and you will find yourself in an end unit like I did, but be prepared to walk. LOL.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Aug 10 2009 $16 a day for parking! The Atlanta Hilton is a nice hotel, but there parking situation is beyond convenient. We booked our family reunion at this hotel, and were guaranteed $8 a day parking, but when we arrived, their parking lot was full and we were sent to another parking garage. Funny how the one the valet sent us to was not in the least the cheapest one. I will probably not stay here again.
Reviewed by: Shaundara from on Jul 07 2009 Two star quality only... Stayed at this Hotel last weekend. Rooms left a lot to be desired. There was hair all over our bathroom floor when we arrived. Then, found out the shower door had broken so they left the surround around the shower and put up a partial rod and shower curtain. You couldnt shower without flooding the bathroom. I cut my foot on the shower surround because it was very sharp. The clock radio didnt work so we never knew what time it was without looking at our cel phone. The green grasscloth wall paper and green carpeting and green chairs..took me back to tacky tacky 60's. Room smelled and I felt dirty the whole time I was there. Not worth the stay. Wish I had stayed a different place. Didnt eat there so cannot comment on the food.
Reviewed by: peacefulnretired1 from on May 15 2009 Stay Away!! Hilton needs to cut their losses and sell this dump. It's bad enough that the hotel doesn't live up to the Hilton name, but the staff apparently has had little or no Hilton Training. There is no service worth mentioning, just a petty Motel trying to profit off the Hilton name. The next time I'm in Atlanta, I won't stay here, but I'll visit this hotel to see if Hilton is listening to their patrons.

Reviewed by: IvanW from on Jan 05 2009 Is this a Hilton or a Days Inn??? Walking into the lobby, you realize you are in a Hilton... nice furnishings, wide open spaces, soft piano music. Staff was friendly during check-in. It is not until you put your room key in the door and open it up see a small, HOT room with a smaller TV (19") and a tiny bathroom. We immediately turned the temperature down to 55, but it never got below 80. I have read reviews on here about the view of the city. Don't know about that because there was a permanant "fog" covering our windows (dirt) that barely allowed us to see the street below.

Reviewed by: B from on Mar 25 2008 Is this a Hilton? I am a frequent Hilton visitor and am usually very satisfied with the service, cleanliness, and its overall appearance. As pulling into the entrance I pulled to the side to reach in my backseat to get my purse ( it taken approximately 20-30 seconds) and I hear someone yelling move your car, after realizing that he was yelling at me I roll my window down and say I am moving I was getting my purse, he continues to scream at me, after that ordeal I decide to do the self park and go into a deck that looks as though it is out of a horror movie, water is leaking everywhere, it extremely low to the point I am not sure if my Ford Explorer is going to make it through, the antenna of my car dragged the roof throughout the deck. After finally getting to my room the shower head appears to be mildewed or extremely discolored and the water did not drain very well. The TV was very small, especially for a Hilton. After all of this I decided to move to the Hilton Atlanta airport location the next night and it was as though I was in two different worlds, it was what you expect when you stay at a Hilton hotel.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Jan 07 2008 Below Expectations for a Hilton The location is really good. Just a block or so from the Peachtree Center Mall and MARTA station. The lobby and staff were good, not great, but good. The Atlanta area is currently is a severe drought, and yet the shower heads in the room, are the cheapest type you can get, and they expell an incredibly high volume of water. I would estimate that each shower used up ten times as much as necessary due to the el-cheapo shower heads. The shower did not drain very well at all. The TV in the room was a very small 19 TV that didn't work all that well. The room itself, while basically clean, was just that, basic. We ate only once in the hotel restaraunt on the lobby floor. The waitress brought me the wrong food, then she dropped a dish off of a tray which hit my back, and didn't even apologize, the food was very overpriced for what it was. I usually have a glass of wine with dinner, but nine dollars for a glass of "jug wine" is inappropriate. I have stayed in Marine Barracks that were more accommodating. I would really have to get a sweetheart deal to even consider staying there again.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Nov 22 2007 Doesn't measure up I stayed at the Hilton Atlanta Downtown with my wife on the return trip from our honeymoon, and we were quite disappointed. Much of my criticism stems from comparing the Hilton Downtown to the Hilton at the airport, the latter of the two greatly outshines the former in service and overall satisfaction. Employees of the Hilton Downtown were reluctant to provide many of the services that the airport Hilton employees performed generously. For instance, when we arrived, the bellman at the front door ignored us for several minutes, and when he finally helped unload the car, I tipped him but he simply told me to park the car. So I parked in the dungeon of a parking garage, which is owned by Sun Trust Bank next door so once an elevator is located, you must find your way back to the hotel -- very disorganized! The room was passable as Holiday Inn accommodations, with battered furniture and a severely outdated television. However, breakfast was great, and most bellmen were friendly. Compared to the Hilton at the airport, the downtown location paled in comparison in all aspects, most notably most employees' indifferent attitudes and shoddy service.
