This was highly recommended by our hotel but honestly it is tired and complacent. Too many staff, couldn't even have a sip of our over-priced wine (severely high margins!)without a new staff member topping it up. So many interruptions it was impossible to feel intimate at all. One staff member was so bored and unprofessional that she yawned loudly and stretched and rested on the deck's pillar right next to the table. Food was a let down, not fresh and scowling looks from the waitress when we opted to start with a Tom Yum soup and follow with a soggy, unfresh seafood plate. Our departure was a disaster, we were so disgusted by the whole experience. I've had better Thai food outside of Thailand! This place needs a breath of fresh air and hotels have to stop recommending it until they've been there lately.

We had been to this Restaurant some 8 years prior and had a truly wonderful experience and so were really looking forward to going back! What a huge disappointment! Right from the start we felt that we were being rushed to order and felt uncomfortable as there were quite a few people waiting to be seated. We ordered from the Special Thai Style Menu and except for the Spring rolls every thing else became quickly cold and very uninviting to taste. Unfortunately they brought out everything together which did not happen before on our last visit! My Mango juice was warm and was largely disguised with two huge ice cubes which made no difference. Other drink orders were forgotten! Service was so poor that we had to continually call for the waiter and in the end we complained about what we had experienced. The other couple with us had to send their fish back as it was also cold. Finally the manager did come and tried to smooth things over with some fairly poor excuses, offering us a discount and some cognac as sweeteners. It didnt work!!! Our whole experience was extremely disappointing. Quite frankly I think this place is now highly overrated and far better meals and service can now be got elswhere. I have sent so many people to the Baan Rim Pa and now will definitely recommend they look elsewhere!! Oh by the way the discount was a huge 15% Ha ha I was expecting at least 50%!! Don't be disappointed. Go elswhere! If you want a meal with fabulous surroundings then go here by all means but don't expect too much else!! Highly overrated and inflated prices compared to elsewhere!! This place has obviously seen better days and now can't cope with the extra competition!! Don't be conned by the so called ambience, for a Restaurant the quality of food and service comes first!! Here it is sadly gone missing!!

We went to Baan Rim Pa in June 2008 after reading some positive reviews. Don't believe them. If you have eaten good Thai food before you will find this restaurant is grossly overrated for both food quality and price, the food was especially disappointing.

Our hotel recommended this to us as a great place for Thai food. It's on a cliff over the sea and the view at sunset is very nice.

I was really looking forward to eating here as we had heard some good reviews. We were however disappointed with the food.

I went there with my husband on december 2006, It was the last day on our honeymoon, it was very romantic and it had an amazing Thai style, it was a perfect place to have a romantic dinner.

We went here on Sept, 2006 with very high expectations and we were very disappointed. The only good thing about this place is its location and the food. Other than that, every thing was a disaster.
