Back to Intercontinental Hotel Tampa 4 star disappointment Although Intercontinental is supposedly a 4 star hotel it is a 4 star disappointment. In the hotel’s favor it has a good location, the rooms are clean, nicely furnished, well maintained, and the bed is comfortable.

Reviewed by: Zsofia from on Jun 21 2007 LOVED IT! I absolutely loved it! The room was spacious. Great location. You can walk to the local mall and it has many upscaled restaurants. The bed was so comfortable. I have no complaints. Housekeeping was wonderful as well as the engineering staff! I'd stay there again, and again, and again!

Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Apr 05 2007 Awesome Hotel! I loved this place! It was fun staying here and I would recommend it especially for business traveler's or professionals seeking to explore the area. The fountains are amazing; the salon is fabulous; food is great. There is a Starbucks in the lobby. Everyone at front desk was helpful. The mall across the street is wonderful. I thought it was cool that it is attached to business centers. Reminds me of a place I used to work. Very unique so I liked the view of lobby, offices, mall, & street from my room. Other writers said the temperature wasn't cool--it was so cold, I turned off my a/c and left it off all night and still used all the covers. I cannot say enough good about this place and I've stayed in a lot of beautiful places!
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Apr 04 2007 Wouldn't stay again!!! Absolutely beautiful hotel, however... OVERPRICED! The parking is a nightmare. You must park in rear of the building. Did I mention that there is about 7 differant companies, that all share one(1)- 6 level parking garage. After you park, you must find the garage elevator, that goes to the lobby. Once you make it to the lobby elevators.... BE PREPARED! 3 of the slowest elevators in the world, if they happen to all be working. On average, it took us 10-15 minutes to go from our room to our car(for a week).

Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Feb 13 2007 Worst Wyndham Ever Seen We made reservations for a weekend at this hotel on the strength of previous positive experience with Wyndham hotels in other cities. On arrival at 3 pm, we were told our room was not ready, but they could move us to another room on a lower floor. We noticed on the way up that the elevator was filthy, and when we arrived on the room floor we saw mold and mildew on the walls, peeling wallpaper, and dirty carpet as well as odors. To top it off, the keys didn't work, so after going back to the registration desk for two new keys and going back upstairs, the "new" keys didn't work either. We were then surprised when a sleepy man opened the door -- they had given us an occupied room! At this point, we went to the front desk and "unchecked in." The place is a disgrace. We went to the nearby Hyatt Grand, which cost $50 less and was clean and beautiful.
