Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on May 22 2006 Bochnia salt mine is amazing I visited it in 2000. It was awesome. like underground town. There is underground church, sport hall, cafe, sanatorium in salt mine. Also the town of Bochnia is nice - beautiful buildings, streets, basilica.

Contributor from on Dec 14 2005 what a great day out i did think o salt mines but what a fantaz day we all had we ae going back with more friens of ours staying in the old part of krakow a lot of history there we like it all so much so we are going back in april again lots to see plus a lot of history there very very cheap as well excellent

Contributor from on Dec 08 2005 The most incredible mine you will ever see This is a medieval salt mine in town of Wieliczka (hence most often referred to as Wieliczka mine) of tremendous historical significance. This mine hosts the world exclusive grand and incredible medieval salt carvings of various folk and religious figures. Its uniqueness was recognized by UNESCO when it was added to the World Heritage Sights list as one of the first entries ever in 1978. Way before any sight in Italy, France or countless other countries.

Contributor from on Dec 13 2004 The Salt Mines i visited the salt mines in Feb 2004, at the time i did struggle the hundreds of steps to get down there because of joint problems i suffer with. however, i enjoyed it so much that i am planning a return to krakow and to visit the mines again in Summer 2005!
