Heavenly history
My husband had taken me as a surprise. As a child I have always wanted to visit this place. My father who was a cowboy loved to see shows like Bonanza which showed the beauty of Virginia city. It was a very precious and heartfelt moment when I reolized where we were. It has so much history and is a wonderful place to visit with the family. There is so many shops to visit and the variety of foods as well. If you have the opportunity and love history please visit. You will be glad you did!!! It is one of my favorite places to visit over and over again.

Disappointed
I went with my boyfriend to Reno because he had a business trip. We decided that we would tour some of the surrounding areas while there because neither one of us is into gambling. I looked on the internet to find good places for this and came across Virgini a City. What intrigued me to want to go there was the fact that Mark Twain had lived there. So, thinking that I was going to find a place where he had spent a lot of time, we drove up there. There were a couple of interesting things that we found there. However, we mostly found a run down old town which I refer to now as a tourist trap. I am very suprised no one has gotten hurt walking on the old wooden sidewalks because they were in such disrepair. The Mark Twain thing, he wasn't there very long at all. I don't think he was there for even a year. I guess he wrote for a newspaper in the city. There was a fire museum there that was the most interesting thing that we saw. It wasn't very big, but the people there were nice. And if you are a firefighter, you might enjoy this. I am pretty sure that we wouldn't go back there except for the ride up was beautiful.
