We stayed a few houses down from the undertow....... we ate there every day, food was wonderfull and the staff was great. i would try the ahi tuna, RARE!!! large selection of beers and great mixed drinks at great prices. this place was what i had in mind when i think of a beach bar. cant wait to go back again next year!

The Undertow cetainly does serve food, as some damn good stuff too !! Chicken wing are excellent and so is the tuna sandwich, amougnst others................

Great location and layout, however, as another reviewer wrote, some of the help is arrogant and rude. The employees have no sense of "customer" and, apparently, if you're not a body builder or model under the age of 25, don't expect to get good treatment here. They don't really want you. Too bad. Maybe that's why so many business end up failing (hint).. . . ...

The undertow has been the "go to" beach bar in St. Pete for a number of years. Unless you are looking for a family environment, this place should have everything you are looking for in a Florida Beach Bar. Beer, Bikinis, Beutiful People, Bands, Boats, Beach Volleyball and more. Great location and great fun. Just as a clsrification for those who do not know, while the Undertow is not in Tampa, Tampa Bay is the area that includes Tampa, St. Pete and Clearwater. Anyway, if you are looking for a true Florida beach bar, do not miss this spot!!!!

The Undertow beach bar has been and remains my favorite place to go when I get the chance to escape the icy tundra up here in Ontario Canada. The staff and patrons of the "Tow' made me want to come back every year. Lots memories of fun and friends made there. I will be back!!

They've expanded both the geography of the bar (it's far larger now) & serve awesome food! Try the ahi tuna (sandwich or on a salad), the buffalo wings & fries are killer!

Anyone who says the undertow is a Tampa bar, needs to study geography, St. Pete Beach is a min of 40 minutes from the closest border of Tampa.

If you're into plastice bodies, personalities, and drinks, then the Undertow is your place. Karen and Paul have turned a quaint small beach bar into the Clearwater beach of St. Petersburg Beach. Good luck with parking and enjoy filling the pockets of arrogant business owners. If there is one normal person who enjoys the nature of what a beach should be, you would be lucky to find them there. BTW Undertow is on St. Pete Beach not Tampa......

It is a cute little bar. It did serve food. The menu was reasonable, burgers, sandwiches, and fried fish.
