Parterre has only recently been opened and it is a welcome new addition to the area barracks' area, where the Kulturwerkstatt can also be found. This is not just a restaurant, it's also a restaurant and cultural events and parties are also held here. The cuisine served here makes use of seasonal foods and the set menus are fairly well priced. In the summer you can enjoy a spot of alfresco dining on the terrace. Events held on a regular basis include tango dancing, literary readings and jazz concerts. Basel's culture vultures certainly have an incredible number of going ons to choose from in this neighbourhood.
