One of Durban's best known pubs, it has a wonderful location, at the edge of the harbor's mouth, so you can watch the vast boats coming and going through the entrance to the port—the busiest in Africa. At night this is a surreal experience of great moving hulks with tiny lights gliding into the harbor. The tavern has a big, enclosed deck along the sea edge with bar tables. The bar is well appointed and the staff attentive and friendly. Inside there is a large restaurant which serves all day, and there is live music most nights.
