My husband is a very good chef in London and when we visit Durban we always try to go to nice resturants for a good meal. We have eaten in Cafe fish before about 10 years ago and it was fantastic. Unfortunately this was not the case this time. The most disappointing factor being the service. In all the resturants we have been in never have I been served by a more miserable unfriendly waitress. I have never not given a tip, but on this occassion we decided not to because really and truly it was quite terrible. The food was average and over priced. I had the fish pie - which I did not mind waiting for but i did mind the waitress lifting her eyebrows at me when ordered it. Although the pie was well filled it lacked sauce and was a bit dry, personally I would have preferred a more traditional mash topping.

Good food and service. Great value! I went with a large group of about forty people, but I believe Cafe Fish would be equally enjoyed by couples seeking a great dining experience in an intimate setting. The location on the water makes it even more lovely.
