Back to Royal Meridien National (Le) Just wonderful I have stayed at the National hotel several times and have enjoyed every visit. The hotel ambiance is quiet and elegant, with comfortable rooms and routinely superb service. The breakfast buffet is excellent with great views of Red Square and the Kremlin – a special experience whether it’s a snowy winter morning or a bright summer day. The only other hotel that I’ve stayed at in Moscow with a similarly nice breakfast or brunch would be the Kempinski. And I agree with the other review that the National is more intimate and classy than the Kemspinki and especially the Hyatt. It’s not inexpensive but you’ll feel like you’re getting something for the money. Note that the single rooms can be quite small although the double rooms and others are more spacious. Frequently there are special online rates for weekends and off-peak times that are worth investigating on the hotel or starwood websites.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo Traveler from on Sep 27 2008 Stayed There Twice - Fabulous! I have stayed at the Le Royal Meriden National twice and enjoyed both experiences. It has great views of the red square and the Kremlin. It is easy to book if you do it online otherwise the language barrier can cause a problem on the phone. The beds are comfortable and the service is impeccable. Also their breakfast is diving and classy with large windows overlooking the Kremlin their Russian Breakfast is 5 stars worth the stay alone. Also while I was there I was able to walk to the Arabat, Pushkin Museum, and of course The Kremlin, St. Basil's Cathedral, and many other destinations. I travelled to the Kempinski and Hyatt for meetings and I have to say the National is way more intimate, classy and offers you the Russian experience with western accomodations. There is a great pool, sauna, and workout room as well! I will be back there next year!
