Back to Coyote's Deli and Grill Shines above the other restaurants Superb, innovative food in a relaxed atmosphere. We went back several times in the week we were in Banff. We ordered different things each time, excellent food every time! Who would have thought that "Southwest-style" food in Canada would be so amazingly delicious!
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Feb 25 2008 Food good, except pizza - expensive We were with a large party. Some liked their food, others thought it so-so. The pizza crust was undercooked. We sent it back to the oven. The topping was bland. The portions were less than the waitress told us. Some salads were great. Fish and sauce were nice even with the cold couscous. The choice of drinks is good, coffee really good and corn bread too sweet. The bill left a bad taste: they had automatically included a 20% gratuity. They should have told us beforehand.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Feb 22 2008 Amazing food the dishes are always spectacular. When the plate is placed in front of you you can't help but be wowed, and then you take a bite and be even more impressed. Tastes, textures, and colours are amazingly well put together, and I can't say I've had anything but a fabulous meal here yet, and we frequent quite often - it's well worth the drive from Calgary.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Jan 10 2008 Not the place for pasta!!! Had the pasta with sun-dried tomatoes, olives & feta cheese. The entire dish was a small-size serving of overly garlicky,dried-out capellini, with very few sun-dried tomatoes & very little feta cheese. All you could taste was the overwhelming garlic!!At $19,you'd be far better off stopping at the local Safeway to pick up the ingredients to prepare this dish at home!!! Poor value, poor quality!!!
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Oct 22 2007 Best Steak Ever! This place was a hidden treasure. On our vacation I was trying to get my boyfriend to try this place and it didn't sound appealing to him. Thanks to the Hotel clerk for the recomendations, it was on the list. Needles to say. We were here 3 days and ate there 3 times. But I can't complain. I tried something different every day. Of course he had to stick w/the steak that was recomended. He said it was the best steak he had ever had. He has definitel had some steak! It melted in your mouth. The place is very small, very quaint. We had to buy the corn bread mix to bring home w/us. I have already made some and yes it still taste great. They told me the secret in making it. so I kept the recipe and hope to buy more mix. Of course we bought T Shirts the last time in. It will definitely be a stop if ever get close to area again. I wish we had one in our area.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Oct 01 2007 Great food you have never had before We spent the week in Banff and decided to try out the Coyote. Some of us ordered drinks, but they didn't have a full bar with the ingredients to make a Manhattan. (They were missing Dry Vermouth, not the end of the world)
Reviewed by: Kirkwoodian from on May 17 2007 Coyote's is now our dining destination in Banff Enjoyable, entertaining, delicious and clean are the reasons we return to Coyote's on a regular basis. The staff and chefs create a dining experience with plenty of variety. We find the ambiance consistently friendly, a great place for either a romantic dinner or an evening with our family. It is definitely part of our Banff evening out.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Feb 21 2007 Rude staff We were greeted at the door by a very rude young lady, (we were a party of 2), and made to wait while she seated unreserved parties of 3 that came in after we arrived. Other patrons were clearly upset with her rudeness as well. Never did get to try the food, her attitude certainly tarnished the reputation of this place for us. Will never return.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Mar 16 2006 Underwhelmed! First off, we never did get called for our reservation. we had to repeatedly ask for our reservation seating.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Feb 14 2006 I'd visit Banff again just to eat at Coyote's Small and comfortable cafe. Great food! I was there two years ago and I still can not find a vegie burger that even comes close! The rest of the food was great too!
