Loved It
We loved the live butterfly exhibit. Also the fact that we could pay to ride the tram was great. My girls and I had a blast.

A charming little zoo.
My family and I had a nice time at the Living Desert. Admission is fairly inexpensive and there are a lot of interesting animals, including hyenas, zebra, giraffe, and leopards. I would recommend not going in the summer, however, as temperatures Palm Desert soar to over 100 hundred degrees Fahrenheit. In the winter, however, the days are beautiful and the temperature is perfect for walking around and enjoying all of the desert foliage and animals that the Living Desert has to offer.

suggestions
we love the living desert, but think you are not receptive to members suggestions..last year and this we have suggested you give members a flat rate to ride the trams any day...they are usually quite empty and we would use the desert many many more times if we could ride the trams when we go..we do not care about all day passes...we care about going weekly and for a couple hours.

Good place to spend a couple hours
Very inexpensive - but good exhibits. We arrived at about 9:00am in the morning just in time to feed the Giraffe. The kids loved having the Giraffe eat right out of their hands. We went in July and it was hot - there are extended stretches where the park has little shade. If they were to install more misters and shading it would make the park better. You can generally get much closer to the animals at this zoo than others I have visited and the staff is very freindly.

Great day out
We have visited many zoos throughout the world and this is one of our favourites. We try to support the zoo by visiting it at least once a year. The zoo has a wide variety of animals living in a spectacular desert setting. The animals appear contented and well looked after. The staff are very helpful and are happy to talk about the animals in their care. The animal and raptor shows are amusing and well worth watching. There are lots to see for those of you who enjoy desert flora. The zoo shop is well stocked and pricing is very reasonable. There are carts available for the children. And lastly, take plenty of water and make sure you have adequate sun protection.

Wildlife at its best!
excellent for children and adults alike. large population of rare animals especially from africa, including many large cats. its a wildlife preservation, not a zoo, so the animals arent in cages. cheap admission; helpful staff.
