Back to Riviera Resort Palm Springs Tiffany King I will agree with most and say that it is attractive. But the rooms are awful, customer service is worse and they have no security. They were allowing fights. I saw two guys get beat up by four other ones and the hotel did nothing. They didn't even call the police. This all happened in their lobby. HORRIBLE HOTEL!!!!!!!
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on May 18 2009 Overpriced, false advertising, plumbing problems The only thing good I can say is that the lobby and front of the hotel are attractive. However, water poured out of the ceiling in my room and damaged my luggage and the hotel made no effort to compensate me. They state that there is WIFI in all rooms - I ended up having to walk the hallway with my laptop to find a signal and found a signal in only half the rooms on the hall. The food was disappointing and overpriced. They call themselves legendary - it's a joke.
Reviewed by: Jonathan from on Jan 06 2009 Horrible Restaurant experience Were told that there was limited seating and most table were reserved, but when we got there the restaurant was two thirds empty. Service took forever for pricey but mediocre food. I will say the decor is wonderful, but not worth the wait and attitude. No parking nearby so you have to pay $8 to valet park (plus tip). We waited to get our car in a long line of unhappy customers as the valet service resembled the Keystone Cops. They could not find our car, then drove it through and drove it away again before we could get them to stop and let us in. Then the car was lost for another ten minutes and theyYELLED at us for inquiring about it. I was physically intimidated by one of the valet drivers. A horrible experience. With this attitude, I doubt it will last long. If the restaurant is still open when you read this review then beware.

Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Dec 02 2007 I wish I could go back! This Hotel is excellent. It was very easy to find, the nicest people work there. If you want to go somewhere in the city, people will drive you there in their very own Riviera van. The van is nice, the drivers are excellent. The man at the desk is very good with directions and can carry on a very excellent conversation. The cooks, if they don't have what you're looking for, they will try their best to find it and get it for you. I wanted a pancake when pancakes weren't avaliable, but the man found me yummy pancakes. I found the greatest man there, someone who really cares, who's willing to talk about everything. There's nice pools, bars, restaurants. Their rooms are very comfortable and nice. The water is a bit hard, which is sometimes not nice, but it was alright. I love it there. I wish I could go back... :'(
Reviewed by: rc...rcbaby from on May 25 2006 Pay Phone Rip-Off Tried to make a call to San Diego from the pay phone in the lobby, but it wouldn't connect. Informed by the phone company operator that she thought the hotel had disenambled this public facility from making long-distance calls at all.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Jan 03 2006 Great Place This is a great place to stay. If you like a beautiful pool and great hot tub, you'll love this place. I had read some reviews about the beds being small and uncomfortable, but I found them very comfortable and slept well. I would stay at the Riviera again with pleasure on my next trip to the desert.
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Jan 02 2006 Nice stay The grounds were very well kept up. The restaurant on site was awesome. The front desk was nice. The only problem I noticed was the lack of hot water pressure. That may not seem like a big deal, but when you are on business and need to get up at 4:00 AM you need that hot water to wake you up. The stay was good and would recommend it. Oh and don't be shocked at the additional $8.00 resort fee????
Reviewed by: A Yahoo! Contributor from on Dec 31 2005 Palm Springs Riviera Resort We stayed in a standard room with two double beds. The room was equipped with a refrigerator (in the closet), a 25" TV and free wireless internet access (which was actually a good thing). The air conditioning unit was very noisy and disturbing during the night. All in all the room condition and ammenities were average (i.e. they were nothing that you could not find in another decent hotel). We have yet to stay in any of their suites, which more than likely would be more pleasant.
Reviewed by: David c from on Dec 30 2005 Will never forget ... My son, partner and me really enjoyed ourselves here, so relaxing, looks lovely at night with the trees, and the mountains and the pool lit up. I found the staff really friendly and helpful and enjoyed the food as well. I had such a good time here, and we found it by complete chance, a trip back to the 50's.. no, it's not as flash and modern as some of the hotels down the road, but you can't beat it for old time relaxed but smart feel. We stayed in other hotels down in Palm Dessert and still came back. Great value for money as well. I will go back ... definitely. You may be far from main street, but they have a friendly free shuttle.. so no big deal.
